EXERCISE 1: THE PARTS OF MS WORD

 





The parts of MS Word

Title bar - This displays the document name followed by a program name.

Menu bar - This contains a list of options to manage and customize documents.

Ribbon - It is located below the Quick Access Toolbar and the Title Bar. 

Quick access toolbar - 

Navigation Pane - found in the upper left-hand area of MS Word, on top of the Ribbon field.

Microsoft Account  - If you use any of these services, you already have a Microsoft account that you can use, or you can create a new account.

Minimize restore close - To restore, or minimize a window, press “Window + Down Arrow”. To move a restore window left or right, press “Window + Left or Right Arrow”.

Ribbon display options - Auto-Hide Ribbon, Show Tabs, Show Tabs, and Commands.

Vertical ruler - lets you adjust top and bottom margins and change table row heights

Vertical scroll bar - A vertical scroll bar enables the user to scroll the content up or down.

Document Window - a section of the screen used to display the contents of a document file on a GUI (graphical user interface) operating system

Status Bar - The Status bar is located at the Bottom of the word window In MS word.

Vertical toolbar -  A vertical scroll bar enables the user to slide the content right or left

View options - They are Print Layout, Full Screen Reading, Web Layout, Outline and Draft and you can guess what purpose some of them serve just by their names.

Zoom Slide - Slide to the percentage zoom setting that you want. Click the - or + buttons to zoom in gradual increments.

Task Bar - The task bar, which appears at the bottom of your screen, enables you to quickly and easily access programs such as Microsoft Word.

Notifications Area - The notification area is located at the far right of the taskbar.
